![]() ![]() We can provide that evidence to larger players who are able to scale it up at a level that we as a philanthropy would never be able to do. We can afford to fail because it has no consequences but in the end, it will benefit the larger development. The benefit of a foundation and philanthropy is that we can actually take those early investments, we can take the risk and develop the models. So, there we are experimenting with various models and building the evidence for what works and what does not work. These grids are a cost-efficient opportunity for local communities. The second area that we think is very interesting is the opportunity and the potential for distributed renewable energy, which includes microgrids. That is how we work with possible partners to create that enabling environment that allows for financing to go into this. So we look at how you can bring more renewable energy into the grid, by using big solar farms, which is a big opportunity if we can actually find the financing to do that. Our challenge is to find a way to finance the development of various types of renewable energy systems, which is what we focus on in GEAPP. The nice thing about solar is if you can afford technical investment, the rest of the energy is free. Per Heggenes (PH): Well, India has a huge opportunity in solar because, first and foremost, you are in a country where the sun shines most of the year. ![]()
